Do You Offer a Consultation or Trial?

Yes.  Consultations, also known as trials, are pre-wedding appointments with the bride and stylist.

Held at Shirrell Beauty in Lathrop, consultations are a great way for the bride and stylist to meet and work together on the bride's wedding hair and makeup. We talk about your skin care needs, select makeup colors and design a look that best suits you.  You can also bring in pictures of your wedding hair and makeup inspiration, so we can see what you envision.

From there, we try out your hair and makeup, and make the necessary adjustments within the appointment time, so you are happy with your overall look.

Consultations are recommended, but they are not required in order to book us for your special day.

Can You Accommodate Large Parties?

Yes.  With a team of friendly, talented stylists who are passionate about hair and makeup, we can accommodate parties large or small.  Let us know your party size, and we will pull together a team to meet your needs.

If, however, the appropriate number of stylists is not available on your wedding day, we will let you know before you schedule your consultation.

What is Airbrush Makeup?

Airbrush makeup is makeup that is sprayed onto the skin through the use of an airbrush machine, instead of being applied with brushes, sponges, or fingers.  We use silicone-based airbrush foundation, which provides a long-lasting, lightweight, natural satin finish that looks great in photos.

We also use alcohol-based airbrush foundation for tattoo coverage on the body, which is waterproof and smudge-proof - perfect for enduring all the hugs you'll be getting on your big day! (We still recommend being careful!)

Whether silicone-based or alcohol-based foundation is used, the application takes a little bit more time and attention to detail than traditional foundation.

Will My Makeup Last Throughout the Day?

Yes.  We choose makeup products that are long-lasting, from eyeliner and skin primers, to waterproof mascara and setting sprays, which help prevent the "makeup meltdown."

We also include a touch-up kit for lipstick and shine control for each bridal party member who is getting makeup done.

How Should the Bridal Party Prepare for Their Appointment?

On the wedding day, we recommend that the bridal party arrive with a clean face (no makeup residue), and groomed eyebrows.

For hair, bridal party members should arrive with 100% dry hair, as schedules only allow enough time to style hair and not dry it.

Lastly, all party members should wear a top that can be zipped up, buttoned up, or that has a large neck opening, making it easier to remove without disturbing the makeup or hairstyle.

What Products Do You Use?

We use professional-quality, skin-friendly products that are long-lasting and look great on camera.  During your consultation, we choose which cosmetics will best fit your needs.

Will I Look Too 'Done Up'?

We can do natural to glamorous makeup and hairstyles.  Just let us know what your goal is for your overall look, and we will design a look with you that will complement your attire and event.

How Far In Advance Should I Book My Event?

We receive a large number of inquiries each year, so we recommend that you book your event as soon as possible, as we sometimes get booked a year in advance for certain dates, particularly around holidays.
